About Tafsir al-Ashrafi al-Jilani

Tafsir al-Ashrafi al-Jilani is a comprehensive study of the meanings of the Holy Qur’an. It draws upon classical scholarship, spiritual insight, Hadith, and Sunni ʿAqeedah. The work is based on the renowned Tafsir ul Jilaaniy of Sayyiduna Shaykh ʿAbdul Qadir al-Jilani رحمه الله.

Moreover, we provide English and French translations. This makes the meanings easier to understand, reflect upon, and practise in daily life.

A Unique Approach

Through this humble work, we have tried to present a unique way of studying each verse of the Holy Qur’an. We do not limit the study to the translation of the verse. Instead, we explore its meaning, wisdom, spiritual lessons, and practical guidance.

Firstly, we present at least one Hadith related to the verse, wherever a relevant narration is available. This helps connect the meaning of the verse with the teachings of Rasulullaah ﷺ.

Furthermore, we reflect upon how each verse praises Allah ﷻ and honours Rasulullaah ﷺ. We also consider the message and wisdom contained in the Divine revelation.

Putting the Qur’an into Practice

In addition, we explain how Muslims can put the teachings of each verse into practice. The aim is to help the reader move from understanding the Qur’an to living by its guidance.

The Qur’an is not only a book to read. It is also a source of guidance for our faith, character, worship, and daily life.

Points of ʿAqeedah

At the same time, we identify the important points of ʿAqeedah that can be derived from each verse. These points help us understand what Muslims should believe in light of the Qur’anic message.

We also seek to present these points with care and in accordance with established Sunni ʿAqeedah.

Duʿa from Each Verse

Finally, we consider what kind of Duʿa can be formulated from each verse. In this way, the reader can turn Qur’anic guidance into personal supplication.

A verse may teach us about Allah ﷻ, guide our actions, strengthen our faith, or remind us of our need for Him. Therefore, we seek to draw a suitable Duʿa from its meaning.
